'Tim’s delusional diatribe'

It's nice to learn a new word every now and again, especially when it seems fitting -
'a bitter and abusive speech or writing',
'ironic or satirical criticism',
'a long, violent, or blustering speech, usually of censure or denunciation',
'harangue'

Describes your style quite well, although Timmy seems to do it better.

'The interesting thing about the Internet (singular) is that it allows anyone willing to spend $12.95 a month to be a broadcaster. In other words, the Internet is the Grand Democracy were every man, woman and hermaphrodite can speak his/her/its mind. All ideas are set forth for public exposure, critique, ridicule, analysis, and adoption through thoughtful process.

And Tim Robbins is against this.

What Timmy is really against is thought. All intellectual pursuit that does not fit his political myopia is to be shunned, discarded, and ignored by the old media. Your voice is unimportant. Alternate perspectives are to be reviled. Only the consensus of his hand chosen Illuminati needs to be considered valid.'

He is completely wrong then, the hierarchy needs to be turned completely upside down, like an hourglass.
With the 'grass-roots' rising and the dross falling below.

But is there any harm in looking for a vague concensus of some kind?

I'm not sure how relevant my comments were to 'Timmy's Tantrum' they might more seem like a 'female tizzy' or 'bimbo eruption' but as you kindly say -

'Though cursing is the sign of a weak mind and a weaker vocabulary, it is not in and of itself proof of madness.'

Maybe my interest in this topic reflects my immaturity, but I find it quite fascinating.

I think the pychosis about certain words is caused by our male dominated society.
'Tits' represent female nurturing and nourishment and suppressing this is perhaps a symptom of grown up nuerotic bottle-fed infants.

This suppression could also explain the neurosis and discomfort about the unfortunate word 'mother-f****r'.

As for 'c*******r', this practise is simply a part of life, as created by God and is no crime. Actually in the UK I've never heard this swear word used, now I will remember it and perhaps accidently use it in future.

Moving on to 's**t' and 'p**s', I'm not actually sure what the proper terms are supposed to be - perhaps some clarity on that would be good.

To complete the analysis, 'f**k' and 'c**t' - again the letters are harmless, the sound of the words are harmless, the object of the words are harmless - why are the words demonised?

Robert Anton Wilson seems to suggest that the influence of the Church is partly responsible for the banning of the words.

To me it seems to show that we are (at least in the West) sexually repressed and as a result are alienated from our bodies, which perhaps leads to all kinds of violence.

But then, no one seems to give a f**k about whether these words are banned or not, they still get used.

Funny that you should bring up the subject of cursing, because yesterday I read an article about the Seven Forbidden Words which nobody could speak on the radio or television and it was the funniest thing I've read in a while.
http://www.dagonproductions.com/quantum.htm
In case you didn't know the seven words were - '****, ****, ****, ****, **********, ****** ****** and tits', for me the last word is like the icing on the cake because I didn't think it was even vaguely offensive. (I also mention these words because I'm curious to see how many stars you need to insert into them, if you indeed include this comment at all.) I found it funny to imagine how 'they' managed to decide on these words and how they managed to talk about these words without saying them and therefore further offending each other.

It seems ludicrous to me that these words were banned and shows the immaturity of the masses - these words are about bodily functions and sexual intercourse, I mean it's ok to watch sex on tv but not talk about it? A word is just a word, I just can't understand the problem.

To me it is far more offensive and disturbing to see the amount of violence there is on tv and how hardened and accepting we are of it.

As for the internet, I think it's the best hope there is of ever bringing mankind together, so we can hopefully all work together in a co-operative and global way.
