Personally I think the world might be a better place if the trailer-trash had their say.

I think most of the high minded 'independent thinkers' are dupes.

'Larvals do not like to receive information unless the facts fit into their 3rd Circuit reality net and immediately reward their emotional status.'

At least hyperbole is sometimes amusing and is quite a good way of getting a message across.

As for repeatedly banging one's skull against a brick wall I can't help agreeing with George Carlin - 'Somehow I enjoy watching people suffer.'

Whether one makes a decision as to who to vote for by an immediate emotive reaction, or by long drawn out itellectual reasoning seems almost irrelevant when you don't know whether the information the politicians give, and the promises they make are lies.

I wouldn't overstate things so much. Politicians have mugged for the camera for quite a while. Go back about 40 years and Richard Nixon hammed it up on Laugh In. It didn't hurt him or damage the integrity of the political process (well, any more than its been damaged anyway).

I agree with you 100% that the emphasis should be for people to become more familiar with the issues, rather than an shallow sentiment that everyone should just vote (even if they are profoundly unaware of the issues).

But hamming it up on RAW, SNL, or The Daily Show is no big deal, really.

'This class of electors vote from emotion and are comfortable with making critical decisions based on little or no information or analysis'

I'm sorry, but you seem to be a snob.
Everybody has an equally valid point of view, to say that someone is too stupid to vote simply shows what a snob you are.
'A snob, guilty of snobbery, is a person who adopts the worldview that some people are inherently inferior to him/her for any one of a variety of reasons including real or supposed intellect, wealth, education, ancestry, etc. Often, the form of snobbery reflects the offending individual's socio-economic background.'

I now have an unfortunate image of Hilary Clinton screaming like a banshee in a wrestling ring.

How can someone who is so obviously a liar and a cheat still be considered as a president?

How bad can things get before they start to get better, or is it an ever downward spiral?

Is there any hope?

I don't think Man is inherently bad, so why do we make such bad choices in leadership?

It seems to me the only hope is for us to be able to work together as a whole, somehow. Some people believe at some point we may all be able to connect to a collective consciousness.

Perhaps it is unwise to hope for something that is far fetched to say the least. Yet looking at the state of the world, the corrupt leaders, the nuclear missiles pointed at each other, Nature polluted, species extinct, our children drugged, people starving, it seems so sad, and I feel complicit in it.

So in my mind I'd rather work torward some hopeful solution, or at least hope that the after life, if there is one, is better than this.

Perhaps the presidential candidates should themselves take part in the wrestling competition, and whomever is the most entertaining, becomes president?

This is sickening, it's almost enough to make me hope McCain wins, in a fit of pique and self destruction.
