Rube’s Recantation
October 23rd, 2007I’ll soon post more about the abusive nature of representative Fortney “Pete” Stark, a Bay Area desperado unfortunately holding a seat in Congress. I’ll report in passing that the best name I have heard Pete’s constituents call him is “rectal parasite”, though I hear tale that rectal parasites are unhappy with the comparison.
However, for once I agree with Fortney. Not for his originally psychotic utterance were he claimed the current leader of the free would got his jollies by having the heads blown off of his own soldiers. But this this snip from his belated mea culpa has minor merit:
With this apology I will become as insignificant as I should be …
I have only a grammatical correction for Fortney. “Will become” is in the future tense and implies that he has at some time or another been significant. This is clearly a mistake. After all, rectal parasites at least serve a purpose.
